File I/O updates / RPM update 6.2.0.494

We posted RPM Remote Print Manager® (“RPM”) update 6.2.0.494 on December 10, 2018.

The focus of this update was to correct errors which some customers, in some situations were experiencing. We have searched high and low for a root cause, software running on the customer system, specific versions of Windows--so far to no avail.

These are the changes:

  • When we write a file to disk, we record the number of bytes in that file and wait until that number is reported by Windows
  • When we copy a data file to the RPM spool folder, we wait until the result file has the same number of bytes as the origin file, as reported by Windows

We have also updated some message log entries.
