ExcelliPrint Premium V4.0 Produces Searchable PDFs, Adds Plain Text Driver, Enhances PCL From IPDS Print Jobs
Idaho Falls, Idaho, June 1, 2010 -- Brooks Internet Software, Inc., today released ExcelliPrint® Premium v4.0 for IBM Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) printing, with new functionality for the production of searchable PDF documents, and enhancements to existing print job processing. ExcelliPrint is a high-end printing system for IBM Power Systems and AS/400 servers and legacy mainframes, capable of supporting all components of otherwise complex IPDS print jobs.
"Searchable PDFs is the feature most requested by our enterprise customers," said Dave Brooks, president of Brooks Internet Software. "ExcelliPrint Premium 4.0 enables this by embedding original document text under the graphic images of text provided by AS/400s. The result is that documents that print and display with true fidelity, can be indexed by document management and ERP systems, and enable text search in any PDF viewer application. ExcelliPrint can also automatically email PDF documents, allowing users to easily share print jobs."
ExcelliPrint Premium 4.0 includes a plain text driver, at the specific request of a printer manufacturer, which required this functionality for several favored customers. "This enables variable data input into batch print processing, providing a bridge between legacy systems and today's printing platforms," said Brooks. ExcelliPrint Premium 4.0 also adds PCL printer tray mapping, allowing businesses to easily select printer trays and paper types; greater control over file names of print jobs archived to disk, using print job data; and backup configuration for easier disaster recovery and software migration.
ExcelliPrint Premium edition includes support for PCL and Windows printers, and is priced at $795 with support for one printer; additional printer licenses are priced at $375. ExcelliPrint Standard edition supports PCL printers, and is priced at $495 with support for one printer; additional printer licenses are priced at $325. Volume and government/education discounts are readily available from Brooks Internet Software and its reseller partners.
