RPM Remote Print Manager Windows 95/98 Is Energized
Brooks Internet Software, Inc. Releases RPM 2.4 for Windows 95/98
"On a regular basis, we seek client feedback on ways to improve and enhance the software to optimize its performance in their environment. These new features are a direct result of this valuable client feedback."
Idaho Falls, ID - May 18, 2000 - Brooks Internet Software, Inc. today announced the release of RPM Remote Print Manager® 2.4 for Windows 95/98 (RPM/9X), the latest offering from their TCP/IP network printing product line.
RPM/9X is the only complete solution supporting LPD and stream protocols that enables users to receive and customize print jobs from any AS/400, mainframe, UNIX or Windows-based system to any Windows printer - locally or remotely. The software is built to work seamlessly within both the Windows 95 and Windows 98 environment.
Key Features Include
Full Multi-language Support
This enhanced feature provides Multiple-Byte Character Sets (MBCS) for international processing in languages such as Japanese and Chinese.
"Complete Hide"
This feature allows the network/system administrator to completely hide RPM from the end-user to minimize user interaction and errors, with optional unhide.
Support for ASA Carriage Control
This new feature allows the user to convert FORTRAN formatted data for jobs originating from legacy systems. Supported outputs include RPM text processing for high fidelity reproduction; raw (pass-through) and filter (write to disk/send to a program).
Enhanced Code Page Support
The user can now easily select the appropriate code page for non-text queues.
Please feel free to read the full story on each of RPM's printing features.
Proven through Time and Testing
The RPM product line has been tested with mainframe printing systems including IP PrintWay, VPS and Solve:EPS on MVS and OS/390; AS/400; with UNIX platforms such as RedHat Linux, IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, SCO UNIX, and freeBSD; DEC VMS and OpenVMS, TCPware from Process Software, and UCX; and PC print clients including INTELLIscribe®.
